Tony Tasset Interview Launches the Fear No Art Chicago Webseries

July 13th, 2010

Tony Tasset unveiled his Eye to Chicago last week, and it has been attracting plenty of attention ever since. Eye is hard to miss, a 30-foot fiberglass eyeball that now gazes out over Pritzker Park at the corner of State and Van Buren. The installation is a part of Art Loop 2010, an art initiative launched by the Chicago Loop Alliance, with the goal of bringing a new piece of public art to Chicago every summer. While Eye as finished product is fascinating, watching it come together was just as impressive, and we at Fear No Art Chicago took plenty of photos. One of the most exciting moments was seeing the iris lowered into place like a giant contact lens. Fear No Art Chicago Executive Producer and host Elysabeth Alfano and videographer Tim Baron were on site during the construction of Eye, to film an interview with Tasset that will launch the Fear No Art Chicago webseries.  So browse through the pictures of Eye and watch the Tony Tasset interview to learn more about the latest addition to Chicago’s collection of public art.
