Sawyer Lahr Blogs with Fear No Art Chicago

May 16th, 2011

Not all Chicago arts coverage can fit into every FEAR NO ART Chicago episode, so we’re bringing you exclusive artist profiles and the heads-up on not-to-miss concerts, artist talks, film screenings.

I’m pleased to author this blog twice a month, and I look forward to your comments, submissions, insights, and recommendations. Before our first post on the remarkable contemporary Chicago jazz singer, Kimberly Gordon, I’ll leave you with a little about me:

Sawyer J Lahr is a social networker online and off. He is Assistant Editor for Film Monthly and has been a freelance writer for six years. Sawyer operates off-the-beaten-path Chicago tours at the The Friendly Greeter and blogs about Thai Language and Travel at Gay in the Land of Smiles . The forthcoming Sherlock Holmes and Philosophy by Open Court Publishing Company hits shelves Fall 2011, featuring Sawyer’s chapter on Holmes’ queer powers of aesthetic sight. Sawyer co-founded The UnScene Chicago with Tiffiany Tate while earning his BA in Cinema Studies at Columbia College Chicago. His favorite Chicago things are: The Queer Film Society, Mindful Metropolis Magazine, Lecture Series at Gene Siskel Film Center, The Renegade Craft Fair, The Common Cup in Rogers Park, The Center on Halsted.
